Exclusive: The Unicorn Inn, Little Dawley

I think this is the first real exclusive Shropshire story that I’ve broken here on the GOAT, but as of the 1st August, The Unicorn Inn Little Dawley will be under new management. Denzil Martin, who many of you may recognise from the fabulous Boot micropub in Wellington, or the Cock Hotel (also in Wellington) will be taking the helm with his amazing partner Gina and I, for one, am excited.

Unicorn Inn Little Dawley

Denzil is one of the people I have known for the longest since our Shropshire adventure started. And if there’s one thing I know he knows, it’s good beer. And running good pubs, to be fair, but that would be two things. Anyway. I’ve had a cheeky chat with him before any of the proper media gets to him. And we are promised this:

We will be building on the Unicorn Inn’s reputation as a welcoming freehouse. There will be a can fridge, two craft beers on draught, 3 or 4 real ales, one real cider plus some much loved lagers and cider brands.

And of course, all you wine, spirit and non-alcoholic drinkers won’t be left out either!

This is properly *new* news right now. There isn’t much else to report, except that Gina and Denzil will be taking over on Tuesday 1st August. I hope you’ll all make an effort to support them. It sounds like the pub will be in incredibly safe hands.

And keep your eyes out for a review from me. Once I’m back from the Great British Beer Festival in London and ready to face another pub…
