Hot air balloons were flying high over the Telford Balloon Fiesta this week. The town enjoyed three days of free entertainment at the Town Park. The celebration was crowned by the twice-daily flight of an array of stunning hot air balloons. We were even treated to an early morning fly past at home before we even got to the festival!
As well as the usual activities on offer at the park, there was the main stage with a lively music and dance programme. Throughout the weekend displays of skill from world-renowned BMXers and parkour specialists wowed the crowds.
There were funfair rides, street food stalls, free creative activities for the kids, and a lot more. I don’t think we explored the whole thing. We were wrangling a distracted two-year-old who just wanted to dance along with the artists on stage!
It was a fantastic weekend and a real credit to Telford & Wrekin Council. No doubt the Telford Balloon Fiesta will be back next year. But in the meantime, the council still has a week of their summer holiday activity programme running before school starts up. Don’t miss out on Kids4£1. You can book your little ones on to £1 activities like tobogganing, swimming and tennis across the town.
