The excitement is real!

The biggest Shropshire Kids Fest is taking place on 18th and 19th February and we’ve got tickets! Have you? The excitement is tangible in our house. Just looking at the festival map to see all the activities that will be on offer is so exciting.

Brought to us by Shropshire Festivals, the team who bring Oktoberfest to Shrewsbury Quarry Park, Kids Fest will take over three halls of the Telford International Centre. There will be an even bigger foam party than ever before (so bring a change of clothes and a towel) and honestly I think that for Bam Bam that could pretty much be the end of the story. We’ll just drop her in there and then desperately try to keep an eye on her until she runs out of steam.

But it’s really not the end of the story. For all you fellow toddler wranglers out there, there is a new under 5’s hall for this year’s festival. It contains a pop-up play town, disco dome, giant ball pit and loads of great dance and performance activities. All away from the bustle of the Big Kids, so I’m assuming it will be an area of relative escape for us parents.

And if you have a Big Kid or two, up to the age of 12, there’s an incredible amount they can get up to alongside their teeny siblings. Nerf wars, alpacas, craft stations. The Panic Circus – which sounds intriguing to say the least. No end of inflatables, giant slides and things to harmlessly bounce around on. Vet school, slime, clay, coding. Bumper cars, vet school. Obligatory face painting, mandatory for everyone. Well not really, but you can get your face painted.

I mean I can barely sum up the vast array of children’s fun that will be on offer. It looks absolutely immense. There are plenty of food stations and treats around too, plus baby change and feeding facilities, a sensory room when you just need a bit of quiet time and loads of great sports stations when you fancy some more of the opposite. At this point I’m probably more excited than anyone.

I’ll be reporting live, so head to the Shropshire GOAT social media on the 18th to keep track. Or buy some tickets and we’ll see you there.
