Shrewsbury Sunday Beer Tours

Our beer tours will be held on the last Sunday of the month from 2pm. Scroll down to see the dates that are currently open for booking.

What’s included?

Shrewsbeer tours are a relaxed Sunday afternoon amble around Shrewsbury, taking in four pubs and sampling some delicious cask beer. Your guide is Laura Hadland, award-winning beer writer. You can find out more about her here. We also hope to be joined by a professional brewer on each tour.

  • Our tour will introduce you to cask ale and some of the many different styles of beer. We’ll talk about how to taste beer and how to pair it with food, as well as finding out more about the interesting heritage of the pubs we visit and Shrewsbury in general. Laura has been leading talks and tastings for nearly a decade, so you’re in good hands!
  • Each tour will have a different itinerary – we’ll visit different pubs and sample different beers. It’s never the same tour twice. Ticket holders will receive an email with the meeting point and pub itinerary on the Friday before the event.
  • Guests will be invited to enjoy a half pint in each of the first two pubs we visit, and a full pint in the last two. We will all be tasting the same pre-selected cask beers, no alternatives are available (e.g. keg beers or lagers, cider, wine etc.) However, you are welcome to request a half pint or a non-alcoholic alternative in any of the venues. Just let Laura know on arrival at each venue.

Our second Shrewsbeer tour will be part of the national Women on Tap festival, celebrating women in the brewing industry and encouraging women to try new styles of beer. Led by author and writer, Laura Hadland we will take in a selection of local pubs, three of which have brilliant women at the helm.

On our gentle 1.2m stroll, we will cross both the Welsh and English bridges, exploring the heritage and our shared beer culture. Book your tickets below to join us on the next Shrewsbury beer tour!
