Take the 511 from Shrewsbury and it will take you to Hadnall. Just off the main road you will find the Salopian Brewery Taproom. But check before you travel, for they only open for one weekend of the month. The details are on the Salopian website.

We went on a delightful Spring Saturday, smattered with occasional sunshine. Good thing too because the tap was absolutely packed. Even though they only open for a few hours in the afternoon, Salopian fans from all around had gathered together in numbers. The atmosphere was great, and we found a spot to sit outside, surrounded by fellow drinkers, their dogs and the occasional bicycle.

I don’t know if it was particularly busy, but I suspect a lot of people had come down for a particular beer. Yes, the Black Range favourite, Paper Planes, made a return this week. The 4.6% NEIPA is hazy and fruity and delicious. A very light edge of bitterness brings all that fruit into line. It’s so good I had to have two pints, just to make sure.
Guests were also enjoying tacos from local street food vendor, Senor Tigre. Music was playing and spirits were high. A must-visit venue for beer lovers across the county.
If you love beer, why not book on to Shrewsbeer – my Sunday walking tours of Shrewsbeer. We’ll be sampling some great beers from across the county.
