Donnington Bonfire

The firework fun isn’t over yet – Donnington Bonfire takes place tomorrow (Nov 12). Held on the Broadoaks Playing Field, the organising committee have been beset with problems. Vandals set light to a pile of pallets destined for the bonfire last week. This saw a huge committee response with private individuals and locals gathering together to replace what had been lost. And the bonfire has been saved!

Happily, everything can go ahead – there will be a funfair on site, with gates opening at 4pm. The first fireworks will be let off at 7pm followed by the bonfire lighting at 8pm. After that, you can look forward to a second grand firework display at 9pm.

On-site parking is available but may fill up so the advice is to arrive early. After so much energy and commitment has gone into the organising of this year’s Donnington Bonfire, it would be a shame to miss it!
